Mach 3 plugin - "Run from here"

Postby medman007 » Thu Oct 20, 2016 10:39 pm

Not really a terrible issue, but if I use the "run from here" function, it triggers an e-stop. I wind up having to reset, rehome to make sure that nothing moved, then continue with the job. I'm not sure how to tell if it is an issue with the plugin or just my setup.

I don't know what your problem may be, but have your considered using one of the newer versions of Mach3?

The generally accepted recommended version is Version3.043.062
which is available for download from the mach3 ftp website

ftp://anonymous:guest@ftp.machsupport.com/Mach3/Mach3Version3.043.062.exe
ftp://ftp.machsupport.com/Mach3/
Please note that most people download version 066.... which is the last listed .... but it is known to have issues with mpg's / jogging with certain motion controllers (I am not sure if UCxxx's are aflicted by these bugs)

I don't remember why I went with the version I did. I tried a fresh install on a laptop with the version you linked and all seems well so far, thanks. I'd call this "bug" resolved, since it seems to be on the mach end of things.

glad to have helped.

Balazs, having a look at the manual (unless I've missed something) for the uc100, cncDrive don't seem to list a compatible version of Mach3? Do you have any guidance on what you recommend / test the UC plugins on? May wish to consider listing it within your manuals for future clear guidance when you update the plugins (only should need to do it once). May wish to consider adding a link to the motion controller website to the compatible Mach3 version too (just a suggestion... anything that helps users)

ps: thanks Gerry, forgot about the probing (...too many things to remember...)

Medman007, OK then I will not investigate the issue.

Rob, The UC100 plugin is compatible with all Mach3 R3 versions. There are different bugs in different Mach3 versions is another thing, but we have no notes about which Mach3 version contains what bugs, so it would be hard for us to make a list. We know about a few of them in different versions, but never made a list of them.
Another thing is that the UC100 plugin was not modified about a year now, because people not reporting bugs about it anymore, probably because it became bugfree already. :)
What we receive reports (not too many though) about issues always finally comes down to a bug in a particular Mach3 version and these always resolved when people trying to install different Mach3 versions.
