axis drive needs to be very stiff and not move if cutter is trying to drag it around- hence choosing geared down servo
trouble is a geared down servo cant run at the rpm required for turning- require ungeared for that
looking at all the comercial machines- they seem to have the same system- magnetic clutch to engage the rotary axis- free wheeling when turning.
