Removing the resistor fixed the problem.

One more thing! I have 3 home switches/limit switches. They are NPN type NC switches. Can I route these all to one pin on the BOB or do i need to use 3 seperate input pins (same connection to all 3)? With the old controller they were done like the latter.

You can route them all to 1 input.

Yes, you can use 1 pin,
But, you will need to wire them in series (serial in the linked image) (if they are in parallel it will not be possible to see if the circuit is broken until all three are open circuit)

[how do you get an NPN "switch"?? ... proximity sensor yes, optical sensor yes, switch [implies mechanical] no]

Im not sure how they are wired but i know they are all 3 NC switches and that when one trips it trips all 3 according to the diagnostics screen (all 3 tied to 1 input). Seems to work ok!

Can you post a photo of one of them just to check.

You wont be able to tell by a photo because the 3 wires that go to each switch are part of a single cable. This is a Chinese machine and I dont know where in the harness they made the splices. I can tell you the switch model numbers though. Omron TL-Q5MC1-Z.

Inductive proximity sensor (not switch)

I cut an old usb cable and used red and black to supply the 5 volt to my Bob, then hooked up the UC 300 eth to the supply also. My comp has 2 amp output on powered usb. This works to switch the relay, then there is a 12 volt input on the Bob I supply from the vfd, which powers a 0 to 10 volt output controlled by pin1 pwm. It's very close to spindle speed commanded but not exact. A few rpm off. Not really a problem for me. Love the uc300 though really smooth controller, just like the uc100. Hope this helps.
