This is where you talk about Plugins. How they are made and how they work, show examples.

If you already have VFD wired with relay turning spindle on/off I would recommend keeping that. The ModbusEZ plugin works the same as the HYplugin and also has a feature for Rpm only, this would just set your speed. IMO the plugins are much quicker in setting rpm and more accurate than using analog.

I have a manual 1/2 written for ModbusEZ plugin for a week now, if I stay not so busy at work I my complete today and post.

The plugin can optionally turn the spindle on/off, so you have multiple options.

Hi Andrew,

Sorry, I missed the part where you were changing the board and my answer was based on an already working system controlling spindle. Yes, the plugin can control spindle 100% through UCCNC software without any additional wiring to your hardware like Gerry already posted. Below is a video of setup for the HYPLUGIN, the ModbusEZ plugin works and setup is the same.

I just looked in the manual, and it doesn't look like it.
I see a picture pointing to a "serial interface", but no mention of any modbus or control through a serial port.

Page 38 is pretty clear about it.

Frequency source:

There are three different ways to set the output frequency:
00: using the potentiometer on the digital operator
01: using analog input terminals O (0-10V) or OI (4-20mA)
02: using functions F 01 or A 20

Run command source:

The command for starting the motor can be issued via:
01: the digital inputs configured as FW or RV
02: the RUN key on the digital operator

The option for controlling via communication is missing from the settings. I guess they are using the same drawing for other models with serial interface, though I could not find any of theirs with Modbus.

Critical Update!

Postby Dan911 » Sat Jun 03, 2017 10:14 am

It's been reported that when using the Amp read feature in plugin it's possible for a new command to get stepped on and missed. I consider this a critical update for anyone using this plugin and strongly suggest to updating to the new version HY12 where it's been fixed. It can be downloaded by following link below.

HY12 will ONLY work with the newest UCCNC version 1.2038 and 1.2039.

Hi Dan would have posted this over on cnc zone but wasn't sure how to upload a profile
would you take a look at my profile and let me know if it looks ok as I cant get the spindle to work
running 2017 screen set

I have a mill with pulleys and I normally run between 30hz and 70hz for spindle control any pointers where I'm going wrong my old spindle is controlled by step direction so I haven't changed that data so I can switch back to the old settings

the plugin picks the com port ok

Thanks Andrew
