Machine Coordinates Moving Not Router

Postby taawad » Sat Nov 02, 2024 1:42 pm

My router was working perfect previously not sure what had happened to it overnight since it was being used, but now currently the router is not moving only the machine coordinates.

I checked my pins and connections of my electrical wires as well as my inputs and outputs in uccnc and everything is connected and correct

Not sure what to do has someone ever came across this and how did they fix it?

I tried offline mode and still the router doesn’t move, I disconnected the pins for the motors and reconnected them again and still no movement not sure where to head to next is it something I have to reset in the software I am currently in my correct profile so I’m not sure what’s happening, any guidance will be very helpful!

are you using "ENABLE" for your stepper drivers? if yes, the ENABLE signal is OK?

check with a multimeter if the drives get the DIR/PUL signals
the pulse might be tricky to see, but maybe you'll se a change in voltage during the axis movement
what kind of hardware do you have?

How can I check if my motors are enabled is it in the software? And is there a way to reset the whole UCCNC Software, will that fix the problem?

Are your motors locking?
In other words when the drives are powered can you rotate the motor shaft freely? Or they holding against?
Also check the step/dir signals using a multimeter or oscilloscope.

No my motors aren’t locking up, the motor shaft moves freely when powered, there is power coming in the step/dir signal. Not sure if there is a button/feature in uccnc that does this to a router not even my spindle is turning on not sure what is happening. I have a VFD for my spindle and stepper drivers & power supplies for my nema motors with circuit breakers.

Can you find ENA pins on your motor drivers? Are these pins wired somewhere?
Also, are your drivers powered?
