Well I always say google is your friend. Here is the manual download page for you servo. And since you are on the UCCNC forum I'm going assume you have one of their products!
So if for example you have the ETH 300 then the step and direction outputs are 5 volts then you connect them the the corresponding pins of CN1 as per the manual.
Here is a link to the manual if you do not have it. https://www.omc-stepperonline.com/t6-se ... 0h2b3-m17s

thanks formantjim,
Yes, I make it work but... I think for rigid tapping, the servo's internal encoder, 17bit, doesn't work with uccnc.

Most servos have electric gearing for the encoder output which means it can divide the encoder resolution to whatever lower resolution than the encoder resolution is.

thanks cncdrive! I thought had it working, but , trying g33.1 it stops at the line g33.1 z-10 k1 seems axbb can't read the index. I'm missing something! Here's a short video:

Make the video public to let us watch it.
Yes, it is possible that the index signal is too short, it must be at least 1/50kHz long which is 20uSec, otherwise the controller can't read it.

Your video is still private.
If the thread cutting does not start and the controller waits on the thread cutting line then the issue can be that the controller cannot read the index signal or the encoder is counting in the reverse direction.
You can try to reverse the encoder counting direction, there is a checkbox for that in the UCCNC settings (Reverse enc. direction).

I reversed , it doesn't change the result! If I connect a hall sensor only for the index activated in the axbb inputs, together with the A, B channels of the servo, could it work?

Yes, it could work, or maybe the there is a configuration setting in the servo to make the index pulse longer?
I mean I would check that possibility too.
