Power supply for UC300 and HDBB2 boards

Hello! I have a question...I know that the UC goes at 5v and the HDBB2 at 12v, so based on this, which is better? power the UC via USB and the HDBB2 with another source? or all with the same 12v source and a 5v regulator?
I ask this because I have problems with the UC300-usb when I connect it to the PC and then turn on the power of the HDBB2 the UC disconnects and I have to disconnect it from USB, connect it again and restart mach3 (which also gives me some problems losing the connection with the UC300 randomly...)
What do you think about the software power problem? Thank you so much!

The best is if you powering the UC300USB and the breakout baord with 2 separate external powersupplies and jumper the UC300USB to external powering mode.

Ok, thank you! I will try to get a 5v source for the UC, the consumption will be minimal I suppose... could it be done with a 1A 7805? Could those random disconnections come from the USB power issue?

Hello! nothing remains the same... I bought a mean well HDR 15-5v 2.4A on Amazon, I have mounted it and nothing more or less has passed 3 minutes and disconnection from the UC... the truth is that it is bothering me since it had been a long time I didn't use it and now I had to do some things and I can't get it to work well.... I have to try another PC, the one I have is with Windows XP (due to compatibility issues) it is a computer that came with Windows 7 series, so I put the 7 again but the same thing happened, and I put the xp again thinking that it would continue working but nothing... What could it be?

I have tried it with another PC with Windows 10 and the same thing happens, it has been a while without the error appearing but in the end it has appeared!

Hello, they have given me a laptop so I can put the operating system I want on it, it is 32bit, I have tried Windows XP and W7... but it is worse! It directly gives me the error "Plugin DLL defective" in mach3 and I installed the version that is installed with UCxxx. This is exasperating, I no longer know if it is hardware or software. Please some help!!

It's curious... when I connected the UC300 and started the mach3, the DLL thing did not come out? ? so that part was solved, but the other part keeps happening, it loses the connection with mach3, then in the afternoon I'm going to try it with XP and see what happens! but this gives me a bad feeling...

I have done the tests all the time with Windows XP and 7 in 32 bits with .NET framework 4 and the automatic driver installer

It is probably ground noise issues.
Try to run it without the machine controller (VFD, stepper/servo drives etc.) running to see if it is still happening.
Also you can try to connect a thick >=0.5mmˇ2 and as short as possible grounding wire between the PC ground (chassis) and the UC300ETH ground (one mounting hole from the 4 holes on the UC300USB board or pins 18 to 25 in the IDC26 ports).

Hello, thank you, now I am trying on another PC, this one is 100% 32bit in case that affects.... regarding the grounds, they are all connected to the ground of the plug, I have it mounted in a plastic box but I made a base and a aluminum side so that everything is grounded and will dissipate more heat from the drivers. Tomorrow I will look to see how the issue of the masses is but I seem to remember that they are all connected.

And it annoys me a lot because I've only used it a couple of times (I do things manually unless I have a more laborious piece like the case now...) and now I needed to use it automatically and this happens to me... ..
