control a solenoid from M3 command

is it possible to turn a a solenoid valve on or off with the m4 command in uccnc , so that when the spindle is on the air is off ,and how is it achieved.

This is very easy to do select the relays in the setup for the spindle.
I do something similar but reversed to you when the spindle is running and on I have the air blasting away and when the spindle is off the solenoid shuts the air off. You can choose how it operates .

my m3 relay is pin 14 port 2 , how do i get that to operate the relay connected to the pneumatic solenoid ?

just going through uccnc setup , can i use my m3 pin 14 port 2 to trigger another output that i connect the relay to ?

You can indeed do that in fact any output you are not using can be assigned to the task.
I'm doing a retrofit of a Tree 325 with UCCNC and will be using a relay similar to your application where it will inhibit the use of the tool holder whilst the spindle is running as a safety feature.

thanks for your help , it is all becoming clear now how it works...it takes me a while to get my head around these things, a safety feature is also what i am trying to implement , i will get it hooked up in the next few days and let you know how i got on.

the breakout board i use is a ucbb , the manual states "The outputs are capable to drive 24V voltage levels and upto 1Amps of current with integrated Nchannel power mosfets."
im curious , can a 24v solenoid be connected directly to an output ??

Yes you can that is exactly what I'm doing with mine. As a safety measure I'm placing a diode across the coil to prevent the back EMF creating any issues. I'm sure some people here might chip in and say one does not need that as the MOSFET can handle it but I'm cautious. I too am using the UCBB.
