Connecting Driver to UC300ETH

Postby PowerCube » Wed Oct 11, 2023 12:20 pm

Hello everybody,

I have the following basic (I hope so) problem, which I'm not able to solve.
I have the following setup:
- UC300ETH, connected to my laptop running UCCNC
- HDBB2 breakout board connect to the UC300 Port #2 via a IDC26-IDC26 ribbon cable
- Closed-loop Stepper Drive CL86T by stepperonline connected to the HDBB2 RJ45-A-Axis-connecter via a Patchcable
- NEMA 24 Motor connected to the driver.

Now as I understand I need to setup the A-Axis in UCCNC.
As far I chose the following settings:
- Step pin: 8, port: 2
- Dir pin: 9, port: 2

When I try to move the axis I can hear a little noise inside the motor for a split second and thats it.

What else do I need to setup?
Is there maybe a youtube video for that kind of setup explaining how to get things running?

I forgot to post a picture of my setup:

questions that additionally popped up in the mean time:
- is the 12 V supply for the HDBB2 necessary for the motor to run?
- The manual of the driver sais: Please note: For V3.0 version, the default control signal voltage is 5V. If need to connect 24V, a 2KΩ should be added.
-->Should I do that?

Hey everyone,

Update:
- I connected driver+Stepper to an existing cnc machine from china (JMC) and it works flawlessly.
- I discovered that when I try to move the stepper with the UC300 it loses its torque and i can turn the axis by hand as long as the UC300 sends its signal to the driver.

Try to lower the acceleration and velocity of the axis in the UCCNC software.

Problem solved,

it was the RJ45 adapter I used. It has the wrong pinout for this task, my bad.
