UC300ETH-5LPT Spindel control Huanyang

Postby alex_s » Fri Mar 03, 2017 8:18 am

Hi,

my google fu is not strong today, but i know there was a post here or on cnczone where someone set up a uc300eth with a Huanyang VFD directly to control CW, CCW, RPM and start stop.
Anyone might have it bookmarked somewhere ( i forgot ;/ ) RPM should be easy over one of the analog outputs (0-10V)

BR

Alex,

And what is the question exactly?
Or you just looking for the link to a cnczone forum thread?

Do you want to control the spindle with the UC300ETH or with Modbus?

UC300Eth directly via BOB

Speed is controlled with 0-10V on the vfd, and direction / start stop with IO pins on the vfd
looking for the link, because there was something with the ground that you need to take care off, so something does not interfer

It depends on the VFD, but in 99% they have isolated analog circuit where the analog input is isolated in the VFD from everything else.
What you will have to connect isolated are the M3 command pin and the direction command pin,
because in most VFDs these are pulled to e.g. 10Volts or 24volts internally, so a standard TTL output of a UC300ETH-5LPT would damage from a direct connection,
so ideally you should use an optocoupler with an NPN output ( e.g. on a BOB) to connect those signals.

I think that it depends on the specific breakout board that you have.
