UCCNC book?

Postby Dan » Mon Jul 31, 2023 6:42 pm

I am new to UCCNC and would like to know if there is an available book explaining how to use UCCNC and troubleshoot common problems.

There's a manual in the \UCCNC\Documentation folder after you install it.

Yes I'm aware of the manual but it doesn't troubleshoot problems.

Example: What do you do when the UCCNC is in Demo mode? How do you set offsets? A UCCNC book for Dummies (like me).

The book would be 10,000 pages, and probably still not have the answers you are looking for.

If UCCNC is in demo mode, it's either not connecting to the controller, or not finding the license file.

How do you set offsets is not troubleshooting, it's training. If you watch the second half of the "Coordinate Systems and Homing" video here, it explains offsets. https://www.machsupport.com/help-learni ... tutorials/

Thanks for your response Is there a library of videos for UCCNC like these you referenced for Mach 3? How applicable to UCCNC are they?

Not that I'm aware of. I would think any videos about general CNC operation would be applicable, but it's been at least 8-10 years since I've watched any of them.

There a bunch of valuable tutorials on YouTube. I have been using UCCNC for years now, and just yesterday I watched a video that solved an issue I wasn't understanding.

That said, the software seems overwhelming at first if you don't have any experience. There is terminology to learn and understand. Once you get rolling, it's very intuitive. Watch some videos on basic operation. You only need a few buttons to get a machine moving. As Ger said, basic operational videos will help too, even on different controls.
