400x600mm new machine build

Postby cncdrive » Sun Jun 18, 2023 1:15 pm

We stared building a new machine recently.
It has 400*600*180mm workspace and has cast iron frame.
The weight of the cast iron parts is about 600kgs, so it is a rigid machine.
I've attache some pictures.

Nice Looking..Is that a kit or did you have the frame custom cast ?

We have the frame custom cast and want to offer fully assembeld machines.
Now we have 3 machine frames and ballscrews and linear rails and way covers.
The bottom covers are heavy duty steel covers like the shield of a tatoo and the YZ are rubber covers.
We will also weld machine stands.

But if somebody wants the frame only we can offer that too.

And will have offer the machines with 3.5kW HF spindle and low RPM (8000 RPM max.) High torque ATC spindle options. This later will be optimal for machining hard materials like steel and titanium etc.

I will post more pictures as we will continue the assembly.

Thanks. :)
Yes, the machine frame is very robust, 600kgs of cast iron.
We working on building it up fully and will post more pictures and videos soon.

A little update about the machine build.
We've made, welded a machine stand for the machine and assembled the mechanics.
I'm attaching some pictures.
Next step will be adding the control box and cabling the machine.

Looks awesome.

Very interested to see what spnidle and ATC options you offer. Seems to be a couple of different ATC spdinles being sold these days. Samurai looks good, some HF spindle ER ATC add-ons (though I'm a bit suspect on these as they use the spindle to tighten the ER nut).

I'd love to add ATC to my 2.2kw spindle and think that a belt drive design might be best..

Thanks. :)

For ATC for now we will offer a BT30 ATC spindle adapter driven with toothed belt by a 2.6kW AC servomotor control with 8000 RPM max. spindle speed.
This is a very robust machine which is optimal to use with hard materials like Aluminium, Steel, Titanium etc. so very high spindle RPM is not optimal with these.

For the normal spindle option we will offer 3.5kW water cooled spindle motor.
But we could also install the same 100mm round frame shape ATC spindle motor easily.

There will be an extra axis next to the machine holding the BT30 tool holders.
The Y axis can move next to the machine over the working area to pick up the tools.
