Touch screen monitor

I am thinking of using a touch screen to control UCCNC on my cnc router, any suggestions or brand names will be greatly
appreciated, if any one out there is using a touch screen I would like to hear your opinions or recommendations.

I use a Planar touchscreen. It was quite high end at the time. It works great, but with coolant I sometimes run into touch issues. Windows 10 isn't great around touch control, but UCCNC is pretty easy to operate with it. I still keep a mouse at the mill though. I would bet there are more touch screen options on the market these days. I think it is worthwhile investment.

Hi, do you have anyone experience with Mach4 Controller with Touch screen monitor? We are considering to buy this type of machine: https://www.raptor-cnc.com/en/portal-milling-machine.html Do I need keyboard and mouse? Is it ok to operate with hands? Thanks..

I'm using an Ilama Prolite T2252msc, I've left the shipping plastic over the screen and it still works fine.

I tried a very small touchscreen display for UCCNC and I couldn't stand it. I couldn't access the jog panel overlay, which required me to hover with the mouse. And this was the only part of the entire UI which it isn't possible to customize. The touchscreen I used was the size of a handheld console, so I couldn't press the tiny buttons accurately.
If you use a big display it would be usable. If you used the on-screen keyboard you wouldn't need any other peripherals. since I edit gcode and use the CAM software, I'd want other peripherals anyway. So when I use the machine now I've got a keyboard, mouse, a computer monitor on an arm, and a DOY jog controller with a handwheel. The handwheel provides a satisfying tactile experience. The only other peripheral I would like to try is a trackball mouse.

You can customize the jog panel too. Release the reset and then you can click on the jog panel to open while the screen editor is open.

Because Windows uses the long touch to emulate the right mouse button you can't press the jog buttons long, but there is a workaround: double-touch the jog button and leave your finger on the it to long press (jog).
