Postby wmgeorge » Fri Feb 10, 2023 12:39 am

Working out the details of my new install on existing router. So do I want the Charge Pump on or off, not sure why its used or needed?

If you aren't using it to control other devices, then you don't need it.
I use the Charge pump signal to control a relay, which is in my main power button circuit, so that I can't power up the machine until UCCNC is running.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I still need to do this on my Avid CNC to keep the spindle from starting when I open the software. Any suggestions, recommendations, or caveats I should consider? If you could point me towards any instructions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Teach yourself to turn on the PC and start UCCNC before powering up the router.

But the software would load in demo mode since the motion controller isn't powered, unless I'm missing something.

Turn off the power to the router, let the controller power up first. PC on, router power off, controller powered.

The motion controller should be powered up with the PC.

Thank Gerry and wmgeorge. I tried turning the spindle control box on after firing up the software several times and so far no premature spindle activation.
