Add file name line to Ver. 1.2111

Postby bhdavis » Mon Nov 21, 2022 1:44 am

I'm still using Ver. 1.2111 but have looked at 1.2113. One thing I see that I like in the new version is that the active file name is listed above the file path graphic (along with the Profile in use).

I'd like to add the file name line to my screenset in Ver. 1.2111. Is that possible? I tried a bit to chase this down but am coming up empty.

Thanks,
BH

On the old screenset the file name is on the bottom of the diagnostics page. Using the screen editor you can copy that field to the main screen. (See the manual for the screen editor.) Make a copy of the field and edit the new field. Change the layer number to 1. Pressing the shift key click on the Run tab. The new field will be there. Place it where you need and you can save the screenset.

Thank you. I figured it was somewhere but just didn't find it.

I built my own custom screen so can indeed find a place to put it.

Much appreciated.

This worked for me.

In the screen editor I highlighted the FILE RUNNING cell on the DIAGNOSTICS PAGE and used the COPY command on SCREEN EDITOR, CREATE/DELETE tap to copy the cell.

Then I went to the SELECTION tab on the SCREEN EDITOR and changed the LAYER from 36 to 2. I left everything else the same (although location info of course changed on its own). That put a copy of the file name cell on the MAIN page and I was able to move it to my chosen location.

Result was exactly what I was after.

Question: is this the "correct" way to handle this copy/paste task or is there a more proper way? I couldn't find a PASTE button anywhere so renaming the LAYER was what I came up with to do this.

Thanks,
BH

It was correct, you cannot do it other way.
