Losing work Co-ordinates when homing

Hi all

I have been losing work co-ordinates when re-homing my machine and has been re-occuring throughout different machines and versions of Uccnc.

It will happen about 20 percent of the time, I will reference my machine, zero work co-ordinates and start cutting, since I run long jobs, I'll stop the machine and move the z axis up, shut down uccnc and power down machine.

The next day I will power up, home machine and go to original work position. The problem is this works for the most part but other times will shift the job to a random position.

This is definitely not a motor slipping as I run an Atc with machine coordinates and the tools are perfectly aligned when the work position is lost.

This problem ONLY happens when I re-home.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The work offsets are saved when you exit UCCNC. (You can also press the save offsets button on the offsets screen.) How do you zero the machine? If you use G92 to zero the axes then it will not be saved, because that is a temporary offset.

Why turn off machine, all mine are powered on 24/7 365 days a year . Mid carve or job I will just stop it during a appropriate section of code , then restart in morning .

I can undertand saving power if the machine is not being used for a extended period but mid job I wouldnt power off .

Hi Thank you all for the replies.

I use the on screen "zero all" button. As stated this method does work but on rare occasions it will lose the work position. I will definitely try to save offsets as a double measure.

As to why I switch my machine off, here in South Africa we have what is called "loadshedding" where our power utility providers shut down the grid for 4 hour periods since they are corrupted and cannot do their jobs to keep the lights running.

"Zero All" is what it is, a button to Zero all axis in the current WCS.
You sshould only use "HOME ALL" when continuing on a previosly set WCS.
