Can't set mobile or fixed probe positions

I have been setting up a small 5-axis mill system with UCCNC & UB1-UD1 and have been absolutely thrilled with how much simpler and easier it has been than my experiences with Mach3 and Mach4.

I have hit a problem trying to setup my tool length touchplate. No matter what I do I can't get a response from the Set As Fixed Probe Position or Set As Mobile Probe Position buttons on the Probe Screen.

I feel like I'm probably missing something simple but reading through the UCCNC software manual and the Probe instructions document onscreen have not revealed any clues.

Any suggestions?

Ok I figured it out: Probe Tool mode needs to be selected first!

Everything is obvious in hindsight.
