Hi - new to CAM and would appreciate any guidance on this matter.
Bought a relatively low-end rotary axis and the struggling to get my head around inputting the specs into UCCNC. They supplied some info for Mach3 and Weihong only, as follows:
The fourth axis parameter settings:
Mach3 system settings: the pulses required for 1
(Motor 1 lap pulses x Driver fine fraction x Reduction ratio) ÷ 360
For example: 57mm 2- phase stepper motor, fine fraction of 16, reduction ratio 100:1
(200 x 16 x 100) / 360=888.88888888)
Weihong system settings: 1 pulse along the angle
360/(Motor 1 lap pulses x Driver fine fraction x Reduction ratio)
For example: 57mm 2- phase stepper motor, fine fraction of 16, reduction ratio 100:1
360 / (200 x 16 x 100) =0.001125
Looking at UCCNC Axes Setup page, and at the A axis, I can't think of a way to translate this info. Steps per unit seems like the main parameter here, with a unit being one degree of movement.. But I can't figure out where they're getting the 'fine fraction' or 'motor 1 lap pulses' figure from. The reduction ratio is 50:1.
Some stats from the hardware..:
Center height: 65mm
Total height: 115mm
Angle: 0.018/ step
Gear box output shaft diameter: 25mm
Reducing ratio: 50:1

Nema 23 stepper motor L76mm
Shaft Diameter: 8 mm
Shaft length: 25.5mm
Step Angle:1.8
Current: 3A
Voltage: 4.2V
Phase No. : 2HP
Insulation Resistance: 100MOhm(500V DC)
Holding Torque: 18kg.cm
