No Movement In Axes - UC400ETH

Postby TheNigerian » Tue Aug 16, 2022 7:04 pm

I am really confused - and embarassed - by whatever I am missing.

In 06.2020, I easily and successfully set up my k2 cnc 2514 with my newly purchased uc400eth and all three axes easily and correctly moved . I put everything in storage and relocated.

I have finally set up again in my new address and cannot get the axes to move.Nothing is damaged and the setup utility software affirms that my connections are correct.

The single difference is that I lost and replaced the ethernet cable - with a crossover cable that I had successfully tested.

Please help me.

Aren't the network perameters different depending on whether you connect via stadard ethernet over network or crossover cable directly?.
Maybe you just need to follow the setup instructions in the manual and redo it again.

I have no objection to this suggestion.

I will review the manual and start all over.

Many thanks; I will revert tomorrow.

Apologies for the delayed response.

I received a brand new crossover ethernet from Amazon today but need to first solve another problem that developed.

I had pressed the reset button on the UC400ETH and now need to re-establish contact; it is in the demo mode.

I will revert shortly.

Many thanks.

Summary

Hello everyone.

To start all over, I uninstalled the uccnc app, reset the UC400ETH to factory settings (as per the instructions on page 16 of the manual) , reinstalled the app and rebooted my laptop.

But now, UCCNC always loads into DEMO mode, the blue light does not come on and only the red light is lit in the laptop's ethernet port.

The connection settings that passed muster in 10.2020 returned an error message today.

I still have no idea what i have missed.

It is quite amazing how costly any amount of inattention can be.

By following the instructions - especially the clear illustration on page 9 of the installation manual - and setting the IP address to 10.10.10.10, I got the computer and UC400ETH to communicate.

Only the z axis moves - slowly - and the right arrow key causes the z-axis to rapidly descend.

I have movement nonetheless and will create a new post for the new issues.

Thank you very much indeed for your assistance.
