Can you tell me what it says after you change the tool, before you click the OK button? It should be moving to -5, which it should already be at. With your profile, it stays at your -5 Tool Change location for me, then moves to the fixed plate, and starts probing.

Are you saying this happens as soon as you start the g-code? I was assuming this was during the tool change macro, but now I'm confused.

OK, so it's as soon as the tool change macro starts.
I'll take a look when I get home. Unfortunately, my PC may have died yesterday, so I may need to build a new one this week.

Yes as soon as the macro starts. it gets a far as T2 M6 in the enclosed file, a very simple test for seeing if the tool change worked.
Good luck with the PC.
If you have any ideas for tests you want me to try, let me know.
If I notice any more clues I'll let you know.

As your Z axis moves down, does the DRO count down?
As soon as the macro starts, it should move to the Z axis too change position, or Safe Z 2 if that's selected.

If the z axis is moved down the dro counts down. The work coordinates are a +ve number and machine coordinates are -ve. z zero is set on top of the stock

I'm assuming you've restarted the PC, and motion controller?
I have to think it's a setting or combination of settings, as you seem to be the only one to have this issue.
I didn't get a chance to look last night, as my PC would not boot, and I spent my evening ordering parts for a new one. I'll definitely take a look as soon as I get home.
Any chance you can post a video of the run screen DRO's when you click the tool change button?

Hi Gerry,
Yes restarted many times, power is off both when I'm not using them.
In the video I have slowed down the z speed so you can see the display better. sorry about the wobbles!

I realy appriciate the time you are spending on this, I'm suprised that I'm the only one to have this issue, I thought it would be a setting wrong and boom it's fixed.

After I recorded the video I noticed that the yellow led on the tool change button stays on until I restart the software

Just fyi there are 2 aditional plugins on the system, the rs485 spindle and xbox controller. They both seem to work fine.

I couldn't upload it to the forum as there is a 2Mb limit so I have used a work website as a tempoary home

Sorry any future viewers of this thread I'll have to remove it after a few days.

Can you try the attached M6 macro. It should put a message in the status window before it crashes, telling you where it's trying to move to.
I can't try it here, because my AXBB License file is on my dead PC at the moment.
