Reduction ratio of spindle

Postby CADdy » Sat Jul 23, 2022 2:55 pm

Hi all,

I have a tool change spindle that has a reduction ratio of 1:0.583. So when the drive motor is turning at 10000 rpm, the milling spindle is doing 5830 rpm. Where can I set this ratio in UCCNC? If I set the speed for a tool in CAM to e.g. 7000 rpm, the motor should get a default of 12000 rpm. But it is wrong to set this value in the CAM, because all defaults for feed, cutting speed, etc. would not be correct. So UCCNC should calculate the correct preset for the motor from the 7000 rpm from the CAM.

Or am I wrong?

There is a section for spindle 'Pulley'. You would set your ratio as if it were a pulley I believe.

Ah, thank you so much. I've found it in the handbook.

are these settings ok?

This results in a motor speed range of 6000 to 24000 rpm.

Is the M215 P1 command mandatory to activate Pulley 1, although I have set the check mark in the settings?
I then get this window and have to click it away by hand:
