Is this lag normal?.

Postby Dazp1976 » Mon Jun 06, 2022 10:27 pm

Looking at the diagnostics page...
Trigger a sensor...
Takes a second or 2 for the input to change colour/ see it.

Press the estop...
All associated hardware triggers alight....
Uccnc takes a second or 2 for the reset light to start flashing.

Seems unusual.

No, not normal. If I push a button, the LED on the diagnostic page appears to change in real time.

have you changed the buffer size setting?

from the user manual

Communication buffer size: This parameter sets the length of the USB communication buffer. The
parameter is in seconds. The shorter the buffer is the faster the machine will react to button presses.
The minimum set value is 0.05seconds(50milliseconds) and the longest is
0.5seconds(500mseconds).
Because the motion core of the software is running in a special high priority loop in our testings we
found that 0.1seconds (100milliseconds) buffer length is enough in all cases and we recommend to
leave this parameter at this value, but we left the ability to change this setting for the most
flexibility of the software.

OK so. There was no driver for my HP after 2017.
Went to Realtek directly and updated my lan driver.
I think that may have done the trick.

The buffer graph was flat at idle.
Had 0.1ms with Estop and maximum response otherwise came out at 0.2ms. Graph only moved with activity.

Does that sound about right?.
