Probing problems

Postby dhb9mm@gmail.com » Tue Apr 05, 2022 4:44 pm

when i try to probe in Z it comes down and touches my plate. it rejesters that it touches, even though i have the box selected for it to save the offset to the Z, it does not. it does not retract, and do a second touch. matter of fact it just sits there on my touch plate and does not retract at all. I have to hit the reset button, and then raise my Z up off the touch plate. I have retract enable also.it does not save the offset to any of the tool numbers either.

Please, upload your profile and I'll check your settings.

Usually the Enable retract is not needed. If the Single probe mode is not turned on and the Fine distance is set then it will retract for the second probe. Turn on the Zero probed axes to zero the probed axes. You may turn on Zero on all offsets if needed. The probe screen does not change the tool table now, but it will in the future.

The zero probed axis button is turned on but it does not zero it. It comes down and touches the part, the probe touching light comes on and the machine just sits there. It won't let me zero it either until I click program stop button.then I zero the Z axis and manually retract it.

There's no need to home twice. Just lower your backoff speed.
