Seeing this error - CS1010 | in line: 4387 | error text: Newline in constant

After adding a couple of buttons to the "USER" tab of the software. Nothing different than I've done many times. I added 3 buttons which is why I'm guessing there are 3 errors.

I deleted the lines in question and the software started. I rebuilt the features and now it works. Just another ghost in the machine issue with UCCNC I guess.

Next time you see an issue like this, go into the .ssf file and find the buttons you added, and post those lines from the file. There must have been something set wrong?
I've spent hundreds of hours editing screens, and have never seen a single error.

Very kind Gerry. I got it figured; the issue came right back and after reading your comment and looking closer at the lines I saw that extra “ marks were confusing the software. All 3 problem lines were inch amounts attached to macros that lower the Z offset in varying amounts for use in engraving plywood (so the labels were 1 ply .07” … 1/2 ply .035” etc). I removed the “s and it builds the screen fine now. Thank you

@CNCDrive you may consider making that character illegal for screenset labels.

I sometimes come across the issue of using “ in spreadsheets… the work around is to use two consecutive ‘… ie ‘‘
