UCCNC 1.029 Jogging Problem

Postby loesch » Sat Jan 28, 2017 11:21 pm

I recently upgraded to 1.029 on my Stepcraft 600 and am using the Stepcraft 600 3D Probe profile/screenset. Up to this point, everything worked fine with my UC100 adapter. After upgrading, the manual jog function no longer works. The wireless pendant does along with everything else, just not the jogs. Any ideas?

Are you using the Autolevelerplugin?
I mean do you have that plugin enabled?
I remember a bug in that plugin which caused the jog to not work, because the plugin called the Jogstop function of the UCCNC in the wrong time and it did not reenable the jog.
So, if you using that plugin it might be a version which has this problem.
Can you try to remove (temporaily delete that file from that directory, not just rename!) the autoleveler plugin .dll file from the /Plugins folder of the UCCNC and test if that resolves the issue?

Now running 1.2026. Have tried two different profiles with all plug-ins disabled and still no jog function. Even moved the AutoLevelerCA.dll out of the plug-in directory to the Desktop. This is puzzling as it worked fine in 1.2023 before getting the 3D probe software.

Check the diagnostics page, and see if the Probe LED is active?
If it is, make sure that Jog Safe Mode is turned off.

Yes, Gerry is right. The Jog safe probe mode was introduced in version 1.2022 and in that and a few later versions it was a fixed on function.
The function became on/off switchable only in version 1.2027.
The jog safe probe mode protects the probe with disabling the jog function to the opposit direction of jogging on the axes which caused the probe to turn on and if the software started up with the probe already activate then all jog directions are disabled, because in that case the software doesn't know which jog direction is safe to move without bending the probe tool.
In this case you have to deactivate your probe input or switch off the Jog safe probe mode with the button on the screen (if your screenset has that button installed and if the UCCNC version you running makes it possible to disable it, which are versions>1.2027).

So, check if your probe input is active and if it is then deactivate it and check if the jogging works that way, if it does then it is the jog safe probe mode which inhibits your jog.
