Spindle control with encoder feedback for thread cutting is already working in the UCCNC. I don't know what live tooling means? Could you please explain?
Sorry i must be using the terminology wrong. By live tooling i mean toolpost spindle/ toolpost drill. So if the lathe motor (an a/c servo) has a brake feature one could drill a circumference of holes in the work piece. Rough examples below are pics from the net...
if you use a servo motor for your spindle motor then this is easy to do setting it up as a C axis, and either have a milling attachment or a drill on your toolpost.
a lot of posts on making a toolpost drill attachment.
Hi! In the lathe version. Will there be wizards, like them in Mach3? Like the Facing wizard or Turn wizzard? Anyway, I´m looking forward to have a screenset that is made for lathes.
And it would be great to see some of those pictures of your friends lathe.
Hello I have a small lathe that I use as a hobby. Hardware is UC400eth and triplebeast. I'm annoyed with Mach3+4 right now and can't wait for UCCNC to come up with a turning option. When can you expect that?
Hi, I'm not sure when will we finish the required functions for lathe, but we just finished making our CNC lathe conversation which we use to develop and test these functionalities. I'm attaching a small video and 2 pictures.
Or release a beta setup for a test. My lathe conversion is getting close to needing a control. I don't want to have to use Mach 3. I'd gladly test a UCCNC beta if it meant I didn't have to mess with Mach 3 again.
No, sorry, we are still far from completing the lathe version. We just finished our lathe conversation, so we using this lathe for the development and testing. So, it will still take time to make this even beta release.
