UCCNC 1.2113 - tool probing

Postby CADdy » Tue Aug 17, 2021 7:37 am

Hi all,

I noticed that after probing, the tool is only moved up a bit in Z and then the spindle is set to the original X and Y coordinates. Only then is Z moved all the way up. If the tool is a little longer, it would inevitably collide with the workpiece. Couldn't the sequence be changed so that first Z is brought to safety height? Is this programmed in a macro or hard coded into UCCNC? For better illustration I made a short video: https://youtu.be/_bk632s3ZkM

Or am I completely wrong with my problem and making a fundamental mistake?

On the probe setup page set the Safe Z high enough in machine coordinates and tick the Greater Z is safer in G17.

thank you so much! "tick the Greater Z is safer in G17" was the right tip.
