Where can I download the latest version of UCCNC? Nothing happens when I click on the download link on this page:

https://www.cncdrive.com/UCCNC.html

How often are new updated versions general released?

I think this was the last update, see the last post:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=240&start=50

As you can see the last update appears to have been the beginning of 2020, and not even minor bug fixes since then.

I reported a flaw in some programming of the pendant over 2 years ago. It was acknowledged, but all I ever got was assurances it will be corrected, etc. Here I am, all this time later and this minor issue still not corrected, after asking about it several times.

One can not be blamed for thinking any further development of UCCNC has currently stopped.

I still come to this forum to keep up to date with any useful knowledge, just in case one day the development of UCCNC commences again. However, as a safety measure I've started learning a different platform.

The development is not stopped at all.
We working and close to finish a new USB motion controller, a cost optimised one.
We also working on an etherCAT controller, we working together with the Leadshine company and we also got in contact with Mitsubitsi, they want us to make their Syslink controllers compatible with UCCNC. So, probably that work will also start soon.
We also working on bug corrections at the moment.
So, development is not stopped at all, we working, but it is true that there was a large slowdown due to the virus situation, some collegues got the virus and also it put lots of extra work on us. Also the number of orders increased a lot probably this is also due to the virus, I mean that people who started working from home had more freetime to do hobbyCNC-ing.

You can also download the latest test releases, which should have any bugs from the release versions fixed, although they may have their own new bugs.

the reason why nothing happens is if you are using Chrome browser...... they have decided to block unsecure web addresses (http .... without the "s").... in an effort to force everyone to use Https web addresses.

(the file is saved under http//

No it will be not compatible. Ethernet requires an Ethernet connector for the drives. The drives will be chain connected to that connector with the motion controller ethernet connector connected to drive1 connecteed to drive2 connected to drive3 etc.
So, it will require a new motion controller which has one ethernet connector for connecting the computer and another ethernet connector for connecting the drives.
We did not decide if we will add I/Os on the motion controller or if we will add support for specific I/O modules. So far we made work a Beckhoff I/O module, but that is pretty expensive stuff, not hobby category unfortunately.
Maybe we will add I/Os to the motion controller + we will support I/O modules too, this is not decided yet.

I'm in the planning phase of a multi function machine and am interested in using ethercat, specifically the CS3E-D1008 from Leadshine. I personally would love to see multiple IOs on the motion controller, possibly rs485 as well? It sounds like you are still pretty early in development... Any idea of a release time frame?
