Probe process help please

I've been having a similar issue.
I have that probe (the round one with the alligator clip) and I can't input the actual height of the round part.
All I want is when I press "probe", for the z axis to go down, have the bit touch the probe plate, retract and have the z calculated (bottom of the bit to top of the surface, Z=0)
Please help?
