Connectic additional switches to axbb-e board

Hello
I would like to connect "real" switches to the axbb-e board for cycle start, pause and stop but there are no ports left to connect to.
How can i realize that in a simple way?

Add a breakout board to the expansion port.

Another cheap and easy way is to use an Arduino. I can't recall who, but somebody here made a control panel with buttons and lights.
