ABXX-E & NPN NC proximity switches

Does anyone have experience connecting NPN NC proximity switches to a ABXX-E? Looking at the documentation it seems like it should be no problem. I currently have a C10 board that is 5V, and it was not straight forward to get the proximity switches (which are using 12v) to work. Just wondering if anyone has actually used this type of switch with the ABXX-E.

Also, I have a UC100, and my understanding is that I will have to buy a new license of UCCNC to work with the ABXX-E?
