Help wanted with postprocessor for DeskProto

Postby Rhinokeegan » Tue Mar 02, 2021 2:54 pm

I recently purchased DeskProto 7.0 mainly for the 4th axis CAM. They have lot's of postprocessor profiles but they do not have a UCCNC profile.

They have a feature to create a custom PP file and that is where I need help. Hopefully, once set-up I can get them to include this file with the software so others will have a PP ready made.

Unfortunately, taking screenshots was the only way I could think to get this done so I apologize for how clunky this is. If any of you expert UCCNC ninja's would take a few minutes and help me out I'd really appreciate it. Hopefully it benefits more UCCNC users in the future.

Do you have to make a new PP?
Can you re-use a PP that already exists?

I am not an expert in PP but last time I looked into this the common response was that a generic PP or Mach3 PP was OK? Maybe you can look at the other available PPs and see if anything suits you.

I have used Mach3 PP with success, but I figured that there'd be some diferences and I'd ask some of the experts here what the best settings would be. The options in the screenshots are actually from the Mach3 PP in the software.

There's nothing I'd change in there for UCCNC.

Thanks Ger! Coming from you it's gospel.

I haven't checked in a while, but are you still working on a new screenset? I'm still rocking the 2017 but I'm ready to lay down some cash for a new one when it's ready.

Looking through those setup pics, the only thing I would change is drop the G20 from the start commands.

UCCNC does not support G20 or G21
