P1 and P2 positions

Postby Pilsbury » Thu Feb 04, 2021 1:29 pm

Hi all. I’m new to cnc and obviously UCCNC. I’ve cut a few projects and am finding the software pretty intuitive.

I have my set positions configured as P1 for tool change front middle, and P2 set as homed/parked in the back left corner. I’m simply after changing this P2 to back right for convenience. I’ve searched high and low on the user manual, googled it to bits and have come to the conclusion this is above my level, which is clearly very low

Any help with idiot proof instructions is much appreciated. I repeat, idiot proof!

Edit macros and enter values that suit you
The values are in machine coordinates.

Park pos 1 - macro M200.txt
Park pos2 - macro M201.txt
Park pos3 - macro M202.txt

The macros are simple text files, use notepad or any other text editor.

Right, I’m getting somewhere..... what I didn’t understand was how to get to where the macros are so I can edit. I was assuming this was somewhere in the user interface, a button or option. I’ve now found them actually in the program folders.

So that first hurdle out the way, I’m into another problem. My changes don’t seem to make a difference (I am saving). In addition, the current values don’t really seem to correspond to what I’d be expecting.

P1 is set for tool change. Z axis at top position, X axis in the middle, Y axis at front. Now looking at M200, the double park values are: Z 100, X 0, Y 0

P2 is set for parked in the rear left corner with Z again at the top position. Looking at the M201 values: Z 100, X 50, Y 50. It is this P2 position I’m looking to change so the parked position is rear right. I’ve changed X to both 0 and 100 hoping to at least see some difference. But nothing changes. Still parks rear left. So at present I’ve just changed back to original values.

If you didn't know how to change them, how are you setting these?
And what do you mean by "P1 is set for tool change"?

The macros you need to modify are in
UCCNC \ PROFILES \ Macro_ (Your macro) folder.

Thank you all. I got there eventually!!

My machine is now happily parked in the rear right corner. Feng Shui restored!
