Initial setup...

As the manuals aren't exactly clear can I just confirm, this is the right port to plug in the BB? and this is the right way round for the +/- on the BB?

Either the manual could REALLY do with expending and having some examples of setups on there or at least have a couple of threads on here to get people started on wiring these up. A standard 3 axis setup is wired up like this, add a touch plate here... limit switches here... etc
Same on the purchasing side, ie standard 3 axis mill/router you'll need this.... etc

You connected to port#2 which is a standard output type port, so if you want to use the HDBB2 board to output step/dir signals to stepper or servo drives then you have connected it correctly.
