AXBB-E Problem

Postby Excalibur67 » Sat Nov 21, 2020 3:41 pm

Hi, today it's arrived my new AXBB-E that i bought from MJCNC (one of your distributors) in Italy. I tried to power it on but nothing happens .... I linked the 5V and also the 24V in the power input but the only led that lights up is the 24V green. Also if i link a ethernet cable (straight or cross i tried both) no ethernet leds lights up. If i link only the 5V without 24V attached no leds lights up. Well, i think that it's a defective card.... but can i do something to try to solve from myself or i must wait Monday next to back this card ? Thanks for any suggestion.

Hi there, your 5 volt supply what is the AMP rating? I had a similar problem when I first connected with a 5 volt 1.5amp power supply, then I up graded to a 5 volt 3 amp power supply and never had any problems since.

The AXBB manual says minimum of 500mA (0.5A) for the 5V digital supply... more if using more non-isolated I/O’s.

What would be a realistic maximum needed?

Would a supply like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005T6RBSO be appropriate?
Or would a 6 or 10 amp version be better?

On the 5V input there is a current limiting chip, which allowes only 2.5A, so there's no reason to use bigger power supply.
