Power supply strategy

I think most agree that having separate power supplies for controller board, drive motors, accessories, etc is a good plan.
But what is the consensus on using a single supply for all axis motors, or individual suppliers for each axis?
Assuming correct sizing, what are the pros & cons?

For steppers, one Toroidal power supply for all motors.
The only reason you see so many multiple power supply setups is because they are cheap Chinese power supplies. They take up more space, and more parts to fail.
