Touchscreen Monitor size

Postby spillage » Fri Aug 28, 2020 10:20 pm

I know “bigger is better” would be the classic answer, but what is a good practical size for a touchscreen to use with UCCNC screensets?

A bigger screen is going to be better for fat fingers (accuracy of hitting buttons), but at some point a bigger screen will start getting in the way in confined spaces, and the additional screen real estate will not be of additional benefit.

My opinion is something around a 15-17" screen. I run it on a 13" touch screen now and it's a little tight for finger pokes. I use a mouse for anything other than the big button on the right.

I have a line on a 15.5” and a 21”.
I know many use laptops, which would be like the smaller one.
The price is close to the same, but I don’t want to use more real estate than needed.

You can choose a 21.5 inch capacitive touch screen monitor to use it with UCCNC screensets. We are already using this size of touchscreens in our garage, almost have 30 units. You can choose a different size but this is ideal to me. One more thing, choose an industrial-grade touch screen monitor for this purpose because they are IP40/IP65 rated and have a product life of 3 to 5 years. We buy our monitors from a China based touchscreen manufacturer, you can buy from them. It costs us almost $240 per unit.
