have you searched for:

UCCNClicense_xxxxxxxx.txt

where xxxxxxx = the serial number of your device?

take a breather, relax. you lost the licence it seems from your first post, and now you are upset that someone is not providing you with a copy of that file that you lost. Take some responsibility for your actions of formatting your HDD.

do you think there is a person sat there at a desk waiting for the flashing light of when an email lands to run off and find a solution or provide you with a copy of a licence, 24/7? Given that persons job is just a business overhead and they are dealing with queries to problems you've probably created yourself (like not taking a backup of the file etc before reformating your own drive).

Your first posting to this forum thread was ~ 24 hours ago!!! Do you not think that maybe they are in a different time zone to you, and maybe it is more productive to just look at the emails maybe once a day and deal with them during that time period and not interrupt their other works they have going on?

I keep a full backup of all of my cnc info online whether it is cloud based email, dropbox, googledrive etc etc...... I also clone my HDD so I can boot to a second drive, and I have a HDD image just in case.

Very helpful indeed Robert . and for your info I did not format my drive.
And No I do not expect someone to be sitting awaiting my email, but neither do I expect it to be 2 days before I get a response .
I think You have just convinced me that I probably do not wish to be dependent upon CNCdrive for the future , so I will look to having an alternative in Mach 3 . For your information UCCNC was recommended to me on another forum and I was in the process of giving it a reasonable trial when things went pear-shaped in my workshop. This is hardly a good experience for me
Bearing in mind that my payment was for a lifetime license then it will not surprise you that if i go elsewhere then I will expect repayment of my license fee.

Do you wish to have another attempt at being reasonable and providing assistance or shall I just go

Have emailed Balazs but so far no response . Is he away ? May even be that my email is not working properly  Is there anyone else who could deal with this ?

I am lost..... your post 24 hours ago..... if you just reinstalled windows over the top of the previous version, then would the licence file still not be in the uccnc folder? Which therefore intimated that the drive was formatted?

Like you I am just a user of uccnc and a forum member. I have no affiliation to cncDrive and do not profit or benefit in any way should you buy their products, go or stay.

Just be a bit patient, cncdrive (THE OWNER OF CNCDRIVE + UCCNC + THE FORUM!) responded to you about 7 hours ago saying....

have you checked your spam / junk emails folders?

With the best will in the world things still go wrong

I have checked all my email servers , all my computers and drawn a blank. And all that before more than 2 days ago I emailed Balazs.
Then recognising that he might be away , I emailed info @ cncdrive (twice ) and got a response on both occasions saying that someone would get back to me soon (but they havent )
Now coming to the lost file , I have searched the workshop machine and found nothing.
Now you may be an IT wizz with clones and recovery partitions and all that stuff , but some of us (and I am sure I am not the only one ) can lose stuff, or it gets corrupted , and we then have to ask folks for help.
I am sorry that this is all I am doing and really I dont see why I should have difficulty getting some .

With regard to that post from Cncdrive it is hardly helpful when I have already said I have checked emails .
Surely he could have dug out the licence pertaining to the serial number I posted and checked that i am a licensed user . then sent a copy.
It sounds to me like I will have to wait until Balazs returns . So sounds like it may be after the weekend now. I am disappointed with them.

I now have copies on two email files , one archived ( I have emails going back to 2003) one in the uccnc folder , one in the cloud , and one in a dedicated backup file . So it will be something else which falls over next time. Still disappointed it took 2 and a half days and not a word of apology.

By comparison a query to Mach 3 got me a response in half a day.

It's your responsibility to keep your files safe.
Microsoft will also not send you a new CD/DVD if you loose your Windows installer disk.
Anyways, we have resent your license key.
