Axis movement before pierce

No matter what I can't seem to get a delay for piercing before the axis move. The initial cut is fine, but then every cut after i get .25" of no cut, missing leadin all together. I've tried several different leadin types and delay amounts and no change. I've got an even bigger issue when I have the THC on, its a PriceCNC unit, after the first cut it it quits shortly into second cut if not right away. And oddly it lets voltage spike and the z climbs. Maybe the thc is malfunctioning, or too much EMI?

Happy to hear any thoughts you folks might have.

I should mention when I run simulation in sheetcam I can see the pierce delay clearly, and all seems to be fine. So its got to be in my uccnc setup. I'm missing something.

Can you post your profile and a section of your gcode please.

Have you tested the thc inputs.... Up is up and down is down.... Do you have the pins swapped? are their signals the Wright way around on the plasma screen?

Which Post Processor do you use in Sheetcam?
Do you use this Post Processor?
PriceCNC AVHC10 THC zFloat - G31
In the G-code example for this Post Processor I can see that the code line for pierce delay is missing.

This line should be located after M3

As for the voltage spike, after the plasma arc is ignited there should also be a pause before the THC is activated. This break serves to stabilize the voltage of the plasma arc and avoid voltage spikes.

Hi guys, well I figured out a couple issues, knew it was gonna be me. First the spindle on delay is in milliseconds in uccnc, why have a delay in ms in one spot and delays in other tabs in secs is weird. I guess .35ms isn't gonna do much :shock: So that helped with my delay of torch, still not sure why the sheetcam delay isn't working, I can see the delay work in sheetcam when running a simulation.
The torch height I had to wide of numbers for low/high, narrowed it down a bunch and thats helped. Still need fine tuning. I haven't done anything with anti-dive or down in the settings as of yet.
Well at least i am able to complete a full cut now with thc on or off. Getting closer.

To answer the post processor question, so far I've used the one from the PriceCNC website and also Jeff Coldons.

If you provide a snippet of the gcode and your profile I can probably help.

Uccnc is by default set to ms as the delays.

Set M3 on and off delay to zero.

G4 Pxxxx

Will be your delay..... With xxxx being the number in milliseconds....

Just check you have sheetcam units set correctly in the configuration tab.

There is also a setting within uccnc on the general settings tab that allows you to change uccnc to delay in seconds and not milliseconds.....

If you must work in seconds
