you need to RIGHT CLICK the icon and change the target.
That's the step you are missing, or getting wrong.
You don't need to uninstall or re-install anything.

@laki, I have been to the C:>UCCNC>2113>UCCNC>Profiles folder and removed the default.pro file and the Macro_Default folder. When I double click the desktop icon for UCCNC it raises an error box on the screen "Screen file not found". It looks as if the settings in Properties tab of the desktop icon don't apply ??

Hi Don,

You did not not have to delete the default.pro and Macro_Default folder.
Please reinstall UCCNC.

As for running a program with a specific profile, please see the topic "how to load specific profiles at startup" that you started.
To help you understand how you can do this, watch this video

No, you don't have to reinstall UCCNC.
You can't see the 'Select Screenset' button because the Default2019 screenset is loaded. In this case, the 'Select Screenset' button is located on the APPEARANCE page.

When the Default screenset is loaded, the 'Select Screenset' button is located on the PROFILES page.

You can choose which screenset to use.
If it's easier for you to handle, use the old Default screenset you're used to.

I did not delete the folders I put them in another new folder in Profiles. I have taken them out of that folder and put them back in the Profiles folder and the 2113 folder is restored

I have UCCNC running now as it should. It loads with the Stepcraft1_Nodel420 and Homes safely.

I can't thank you enough for staying with me through this, I know it must have been hard dealing with me and my problems. I am completely satisfied with my setup now just want to get cutting some replacement parts for my clock.
Is there a manual that contains all this information ?? and can I download it ? I may not be able to understand it but at least I can say I have read it. lol :D
By the way I cannot see the video, is it a YouTube video ?
Again thank you for all your help
take care

Hi Don,

I'm glad we finally managed to solve this little problem.
At the very beginning, I suggest you to read UCCNC_usersmanual.pdf and become familiar with how the program works.
This file is located in the UCCNC \ Documentation folder.
There are countless video tutorials on the internet about CAD and CAM programs and the use of CNC routers.
This is just one of them showing the basic workflow.

I personally use Fusion360 most often, but I also use Rhino, Aspire and ArtCam as well as SheetCam for plasma applications.
To draw simple 2D models, some vector programs like CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, etc. can also be used.
