lathe options

Postby pz67 » Wed Nov 16, 2016 10:40 pm

Hello, for lathe it would be very helpful G95 (feed per revolution units) and
G96 (constant surface speed) and secondarily programming
diametrical optional (all X-axis values are interpreted as diameter. The effect Is that all movements in the X-axis are divided by 2).
Do you think this will be possible in the future?

I see there are plans to add full lathe functionality. Is there a timeframe associated with this plan?

Yes, we have plans for it, but lathe application is very low on our priority list, because our experience is that the number of users converting lathes is very low compared to who converting mills/routers and plasmas/flamecutters. I think I can say lathe users are less than 1% of our users and it was the same even when we did not have our own software but used Mach3, so the low number is not because we do not support lathes fully in the UCCNC, but probably simply because the number of lathe conversion users is much lower.

So, we focusing more on these other applications currently, will add lathe functions as time will allows, but I can't give you an ETA on this yet.

I'm using the UCCNC eth400 on my lathe and bought it due to the videos that were posted showing it's threading support. Please don't put the lathe features too far down the support list.
Thanks
