I still made some modifications, trying to soften up the fix as much as possible.
Can you please test the attached exe file for crash and also for slider moves if it crashes.
If this does not crash then it is good enough that I will leave it like this then.

Just an observation by Spuds and myself…

If any, other than the lower left datum position is selected the running toolpath is not correctly displayed within the window.

This is really not important but I just thought I would mention it.

Im liking this new screenset but would like to make some simple changes like colouring some buttons to highlight them , are there any tutorials around showing the basics of how the screenset editor works.

I've checked and really the origin coordinate data for the laser image is not OK on the display.
I have just fixed it. It will be fine in the next release.

There's some info in the UCCNC/Documentation folder of your installation.
And also there is some info in the UCCNC users manual.
