Rotary axis rollover

Are there plans on implementing 360 degree rollover on the A axis?

I didn't think uccnc supported rotary axis, thought they were all linear and required a bit of fudging regarding angular feedrate by changing the steps per unit relative to diameter (or that's what I've been doing)

... G93 may be useful on the to-do list if looking at rotary?

I am also wondering if there is a plan to implement axis rollover option at 360 degrees as in Mach3.

Vmax549 wrote:How about with the Axis rollover you use a switch like with Machine and Work coords. Click on teh switch and it displays the REAL rotary coords and press it again and it displays the roll over coords.

Not seen that before but it sounds like a good idea.

Or perhaps even better a DRO for real as well as rollover. So that I could have both on my custom screenset.

OK thanks for that Terry

That will be useful when we get the rollover function included.

But as has been said, it really only becomes applicable after we get G93

He won't be using the rotary until he can use G93. :D

BTW, what is the purpose of axis rollover. We have it on our list, because some people asked about it, but the only thing I can think of when this can be useful is a rotary knife when it is better if the axis rotates to the shorter direction. By shorter direction I mean that if the axis rolls over then only 0...360° is available and so when you code an angle then the direction of movement is not clear, the only way to decide is by shorter or longer path. And for rotary knife the shorter path is the better because then the movement happens faster.
But other than the rotary knife application I have no clue for what else applications could this feature be useful?!
