Hi Rob,

Yes, the manual is linked on the product page. :)

The UCR201 has the following advantages over the XHC HB04:

- The XHC LCD is pretty slow, like 2Hz update rate. The UCR201 is 20Hz, so the LCD screen updates much faster and smoother.
- The UCR201 has more buttons.
- The UCR201 has configurable safety buttons. (On the picture we took earlier there is only one buttons, but in real there is 2 of them. Will make new pics later...)
- The XHC HB04 consumes lots of power and so the battery life is short. The UCR201 was optimised for low power consumption. Not even need to turn it off, it goes to sleep automatically after configurable time.
- The UCR201 has a larger LCD with higher resolution and so it can show upto 6-axis coordinates and FRO, SRO etc. the same time.

I forgot one more difference is that the HB04 works with wifi (2.4GHz) and the UCR201 works on the free radio channel 433 and 866 MHz.
The higher the frequency the shorter the transmit range with the same transmit power, because the wavelength is shorter.
And also wifi is often quite flooded while the free radio channel at most places is not used by any other devices.

Thanks for the advantages {makes it much clearer for people to compare} the two rival options.

Thanks for the info on the 433 / 866MHz + 2.4ghz, I didn't realise / know that {I don't deal with RF at all}

I went USB XHC-HB04 not wifi because of the potential for electrical noise from plasma.

Hence why I use USB mouse + USB keyboard.... less chance of signal issues as the USB is along way from the plasma cutter than the potential with wifi.

I wonder how 433 / 866Mhz stacks up with plasma electrical noise?

The XHC HB04 is a wireless pendant. Yours isn't?
The wifi is between the USB transciever and the pendant, so you must have a wifi version if you have the HB04 wireless pendant.

The difference is there, the XHC uses wifi between the USB transciever and the UCR201 using the free radio channel between the USB transciever and the UCR201.
So, both devices work with USB connection to the PC, the difference is the communication channel frequency between the USB transciever and the pendant.

Oh, one thing I do like about the xhc-hb04 is it has a magnetic back, so it clips / sticks to my cnc stand

I think they have a piece of this on the back (or something similar)

magnetic block = plasma dust sticks on the pendant :)
The UCR201 has a removable "leg" on the back which you can open and then you can put it on the table like if it was an easel. Unfortunately I have no photo of that now.
And also it has a clips on the top as you can see on the picture.
We were thinking to add a margnet, but finally thought it is not a good idea...
