Microsoft paint

hello
i am editing the default2019 screenset. Which i renamed fully.
Learning my way around it.
i have edited buttons and now a background with paint.
However when i save it says if you save this transparency will be lost.
What does this mean and will it bother me. i have modified and created several buttons so far and
do not see anything amis and have used paint for some time but am concerned of a problem i dont see.

That means that the parts of the picture which are transparent will be save with usually white color.
This is because Microsoft paint does not handle transparency in picture images.
And this can be a problem if you saving pictures which has transparent parts, e.g. round LEDs or rounded buttons, because then the transparent part which is the rectangle around the button or LED will be saved white and not transparent which will look bad in your screenset except if your background in your screenset behind the button or LED etc. is white.
My advice is to download and use paint.net , it is very similar to Microsoft paint, but has more functions and handles transparency in pictures images.

No it not a typo. The name of the software is paint.net.
