Wow, very nice! Are you saying you used size-on-size for the pocket vs. the piece going into it? Iv never done inlays before.

No. There is a better way
To ensure no gaps. Cut as a vcarve
The male is cut as a negative vcarve
So both parts are tapered.

Just made another one tonight. Here is a video of it before gluing together
