Softlimit and homing offset

Postby merrick » Mon Aug 21, 2017 4:17 pm

I want to set my soft limit about 0.5" from my homing buttons. For example, if homing write offset is 0 for the X axis in negative direction, I want the softlimit to be at 0.5. However, every time I change to soft limit the software also change the wrte homing offset to the same value

Your other thread said you are using a modified screen? Are you sure it's not a screen error, with the wrong field numbers assigned?

No, it's not a screen error, it's built-in. :) It is one of my pains. The work-around is to save settings when softlimit is off. If you want softlimits automatic on then forget the config/general tab, you have to turn it on in M99998.

E.g. my X settings are: home offset -21.0 and softlimit -20.0. If softlimit is on and I press apply, the home offset will change without any notice! That is the worst choice, because it changes the home offset and I already had broken tool because this.
