GOTO ZERO Problem

Postby ljr8378 » Sat Jul 30, 2022 7:30 pm

I would like all axes to "GOTO ZERO". When I hit the GOTO ZERO button, the machine and work coordinates in the UCCNC software goto zero and I hear the stepper motors activate briefly. The trouble is that the stepper motors do not position the cutter to the zero (or home) location. I am attaching a screen shot of the X-axis setup. Could I get some feed back.

Thanks,

Lauren

Sounds like your steppers are stalling. Try decreasing the velocity and acceleration about 20%.

Goto zero runs at your rapid speed.
How far out of position does your cutting go when you rapid position from one point to the next? .
Like Ger21.
Reduce your speeds.

Reducing the acceleration seems to have fixed the problem. I am sure the issue arose from when I calibrated the software to my mill. I went from 200 steps/unit to 20670 steps per unit. I did not change any of the acceleration values, which was obviously a problem in hide sight. There doesn't seem to be a lot of information on the setup values in the manual. Is there another document or YouTube video that I could get more detailed/additional information?

Thanks,

Lauren
