Shortcut not working

I am moving UCCNC to a new computer. The program works correctly except that it loads the default profile every time from the shortcut. The profile is 'STEPCRAFT_S600_profile.pro', and the shortcut is 'C:\UCCNC\Profiles\STEPCRAFT_S600_profile.pro'.

The profile works correctly if selected from the Profiles screen in UCCNC.

The shortcut was generated within Windows, not manually.

What am I doing wrong? Thank you!
Richard

Copy and paste the shortcut here.

The shortcut is precisely as quoted above. I've just deleted it and made a new one- it is exactly the same, and gives the same result- it loads the default profile. Can't figure out what's happening. There can't be a fault with the profile because it opens perfectly well from within UCCNC.

Try this:

C:\UCCNC\UCCNC.exe /p STEPCRAFT_S600_profile

Hi Gerry,
I'm currently switching over from Mach3 to UCCNC and so still getting around familiarizing myself with the software both through the manual and mostly through the forum. Would you mind explaing to me exactly how you do the above step by step?

Furthermore I'm taking this step due to that I'm installing a co2 laser on my CNC router and was told UCCNC handles better than Mach3, so here I am. I am contemplating doing 1 profile for both router and laser, since I got a UC300ETH controller I can hook up both on it. Technically speaking this should work, particularly that I have a safety 3 position selector switch (1 for laser, 1 off and the other router) to direct power to which of the 2 I chose to work with. This gives me the advantage to switch machining mode without loosing the coordinate position.
What is your view on this?
Thanks Marting

In UCCNC, just go to Settings>Profiles.
Type the new profile name, check the box to create a shortcut on desktop, and click the new profile button.
