I have defective UCSB Board, no responses to emails?

Postby TroyO » Thu Mar 17, 2022 11:18 pm

I've been emailing about my UCSB board being defective, with a non-functional output literally for months. I've CC'ed info@cncdrive.com, support@cncdrive.com and dubblecnc@gmail.com. I do get the "Your email has been received" replies, but never anything addressing the issue. Am I using the wrong email?

Pin O8 on the board is always on, even with nothing but 24V connected. It's not responsive to UCCNC even though the rest of the pins seem fine. It's been like that since the start, when just powered up for bench testing.

Thanks in advance for any assistance, or direction to a better way to make contact?

Troy

Any joy getting further with this?.
That definately looks to be a faulty optocoupler or solder joint keeping the circuit closed.

Did you buy it direct from cncdrive or from a reseller?.
I thought that support from cncdrive was good, that's why I bought in to a uc300eth. Disappointing if it turns out it isn't.

Check email spam folders. They likely replied and you didn't get it, or it was blocked.

If the output is always on no matter what the output state in the software then it is likely that the optocoupler damaged or maybe it is a soldering problem or a chip on the board.
Can you make some closer pictures of the board please?

I don't see any problems on the board.
I will send you some pictures to make some measurements to see where is the problem on the board.
I will need some time though to check the schematics of the UCSB and so make some pictures for you.

No problem. I’m … uhhh, better than a total newb but by no means an expert with soldering, lol. I’d be willing to take measurements or touch up some solder joints. I have a temp controlled iron and basic hot air setup.

Any chance of getting hold of the cad design of the pcb?.

No, we do not share the CAD drawing, it would make it possible to copy/reproduce the board.
